Local weather is predicted to be at an all-time low this weekend. It is important to stay indoors and keep warm when possible. If you plan on being outside, wear multiple loose layers and cover all exposed skin; gloves, scarves, hats. If possible, check on your elderly neighbors! Also, check the batteries on smoke and CO detectors in your home. DO NOT use power cords on space heaters; plug directly into outlets and keep area around them clear of clutter. Know where EMERGENCY shut-offs are located for both heating systems and water lines. Lastly, keep a tap running and leave bathroom and kitchen cabinets open.
