Full-Time Firefighter
The Town of Rowley is seeking six full-time firefighters to work in the Rowley Fire Department. This position is responsible for performing firefighting tasks and responding to emergency situations as a member of a firefighting crew. The firefighter position is also required to perform inspections, provide medical aid, to maintain Fire Department vehicles and apparatus and other related tasks. The position is supervised by the Fire Chief. Minimum qualifications include: High School diploma or equivalent with preferably an Associate's Degree in Fire Science, and the following certifications.
- Firefighter I/II Certification from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy or Pro-Board approved certification;
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation;
- Hazardous Material Fire Responder Operations; and
- Emergency Medical Technician Certification within one year of appointment.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years of experience as a certified volunteer/call firefighter, preferably with a designation of I/II EMT-B. Position requires an initial physical exam per the NFPA medical requirements and passage of the State Physical Ability Test, and Psychological Testing. Position appointed by Board of Selectmen. This is a union position with a FY 25 starting rate of $29.99 per hour. FY 26 starting rate has yet to be determined.
