Saturday, September 25th – The Rowley Fire Department held a dedication ceremony for Engine 2. The new apparatus was dedicated in memory of Deputy Chief Bob Merry. Our original Engine 2, a 1936 Dodge/Maxim pumper, was used for the traditional wetdown ceremony to commission the new apparatus.
This newest addition to our fleet is an E-One Typhoon Rescue Pumper which is equipped to respond to most incidents including fires, motor vehicle crashes, and rescues. It also carries basic life support (BLS) equipment for medical emergencies.
During this ceremony, members of the Rowley Fire Department were also recognized for their years of service to the town. The following members were recognized:
Chief Broderick: 40 years
Captain Emery: 40 years
Captain Merry: 45 years
Lieutenant Chadbourne: 30 years
Lieutenant Britner: 20 years
Rev. Hagopian: 20 years
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make this occasion happen!
