We are pleased to announce the Rowley Fire Department was recently awarded a grant as part of the Department of Fire Services Fiscal Year 2023 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program. This program allows departments the ability to purchase new firefighter safety equipment and better prepare for the variety of incidents we respond to daily. Rowley is one of over 300 fire departments across the state to be awarded a grant under this program.
The Rowley Fire Department will use $15,261.77 in awarded funds to purchase nozzles, hydrant gates, rescue and auto extrication equipment. Ice and water rescue capabilities will be expanded with the purchase additional ropes and carabiners for life safety. Stabilization struts will also be purchased to secure vehicles that have rolled onto their side or roof, allowing us to extricate victims safely. Lastly, we will be able to purchase new nozzles and hydrant assist valves for fire suppression operations.
